GIPSA Approves Charm Sciences’ Two Minute ROSA DONQ2 Quantitative Test for 21 Commodities

USDA-GIPSA (Grain Inspection, Packers & Stockyards Administration) has approved Charm Sciences’ ROSA DONQ2 Quantitative Test for the detection of 0.5 to 30 ppm DON (vomitoxin) in feed and grain.

Lawrence, MA – Charm Sciences, Inc. is pleased to announce that USDA-GIPSA (Grain Inspection, Packers & Stockyards Administration) has approved Charm’s ROSA DONQ2 Quantitative Test for the detection of 0.5 to 30 ppm DON (vomitoxin) in feed and grain.

The ROSA DONQ2 Quantitative Test uses the Charm® Rapid One Step Assay (ROSA) lateral flow technology to quantitate DON in a simple, two-minute assay using water as the extraction solvent.  “Charm’s DONQ2 test meets the extended test range criteria established by USDA-GIPSA for the rapid detection of DON in feed and grain,” said Mark Tess, Ph.D., Mycotoxin Product Manager for Charm Sciences. “Charm is committed to providing rapid and accurate test results to support customers’ requests for simple solutions to detect mycotoxins.”

The test kit is approved on the Charm EZ-M system. The all-in-one Charm EZ-M system identifies the appropriate mycotoxin test using color-coded strips then reads and displays the quantitative test results; test data is stored on an SD card for reporting and analysis.

The ROSA DONQ2 Quantitative Test is approved for the following 21 commodities:

Barley, Brown Rice, Buckwheat, Corn, Corn Bran, Corn Germ Meal, Corn Gluten Feed, Corn Gluten Meal, Distillers Dried Grain with Solubles, Hominy, Malted Barley, Milled Rice, Oats, Rice Bran, Rough Rice, Rye, Sorghum, Soybean Meal, Triticale, Wheat, and Wheat Bran.

In addition to the DONQ2 Quantitative Test, Charm manufactures a variety of ROSA tests to detect mycotoxins (aflatoxin, DON/vomitoxin, fumonisin, ochratoxin, T2/HT2, and zearalenone) in feed and grain.
