Mycotoxins Overview

Mycotoxins are produced by molds from improper storage of grain or plant diseases and are often exacerbated by weather conditions such as unseasonable rains or drought. Mycotoxin contaminations can lead to serious health issues for both humans and animals.

Charm provides a variety of easy-to-use, economical, rapid tests to detect mycotoxins (aflatoxin, DON/vomitoxin, fumonisin, ochratoxin, T2/HT2, and zearalenone).

Water Extraction Technology (WET) for Mycotoxin Testing
Methanol and ethanol may be replaced with water to extract mycotoxins using Charm’s Water Extraction Technology (WET). This economic alternative reduces hazardous chemical shipping and storage, and allows negative results to be disposed of with normal waste providing they do not violate local regulations. WET tests are available for aflatoxin, fumonisin and zearalenone.
