Fumonisin - Charm Sciences

The most common mycotoxin resulting from Fusarium infection in grain is fumonisin. Given its occurrence and government regulations that limit fumonisin levels in food, screening for fumonisin is commonly performed. Fumonisin in feed is responsible for ELEM (equine leukoencephalomalacia) in horses, pulmonary edema in swine, and liver lesions in cattle.

Charm provides two fast, easy-to-use ROSA tests to detect fumonisin.

ROSA WET-S5 Fumonisin Quantitative Test

The ROSA WET-S5 Fumonisin Quantitative Test detects Fumonisin rapidly and quantitatively utilizing ROSA (Rapid One Step Assay) lateral flow technology. The WET method uses an extraction powder added to the sample followed by water (e.g., bottled water) to extract Fumonisin.

ROSA FAST5 Fumonisin Quantitative Test

The ROSA FAST5 Fumonisin Quantitative Test enables grain and feed producers to quantitatively detect fumonisin in a five minute assay. This Rapid One Step Assay is a quantitative lateral flow test that is read in the Charm EZ-M system or the ROSA-M Reader. Samples are extracted with 70% methanol.
