Blue Yellow II
>> Available in kits of 192 tests

blue-yellow2-logoCharm Blue Yellow II is a microbial inhibition assay that detects many antimicrobial drugs at or below EU MRLs (Maximum Residue Limits). It is designed for high volume screening of raw commingled and ultra-pasteurized cow milk.

Blue Yellow II kits consist of single service wells that contain pre-measured bacterial spores, media and a pH indicator. The pre-dispensed reagents ensure uniformity and eliminate reagent transfer steps. This helps to prevent reagent loss and inadvertent contamination.

 BY-II AT A GLANCE

  •  Broadest detection for antibiotics and other antimicrobials

  •  Detects many antibiotics at or near EU MRLs

  •  Breakthrough sensitivity to sulfonamides, tetracyclines and aminoglycosides

  •  Easy: Just add milk and incubate

  •  Results in less than 3 hours

  •  Ideal for large volume testing

  •  Use with standard 64° C air incubator

  •  Optimized incubation times for each new lot

  •  Optional color scanner available for interpretation

HOW IT WORKS
by-2-vialsThe starting color in the well is blue. Milk is added to the microwell and incubated. Spores germinate and grow, generating acid which is indicated by color change to yellow. If antibiotics are present in the milk, microbial growth is inhibited so that no acid is generated. Thus antibiotic positive samples remain blue.

A CHARM GOLD STANDARD TEST

gold-standard-logo1The Charm Blue Yellow II Test has achieved Gold Standard status. To be considered a Gold Standard, a Charm Test must not only meet, but exceed standards required for sensitivity, accuracy, precision, reproducibility, and ruggedness.
