Charm II Tetracycline Tests >> Available in kits of 20, 100, and 500 tests
Charm II Tetracycline Tests detect tetracycline drug residues in milk, honey, meat tissue and other food products. Designed to screen for tetracycline, chlortetracycline, and oxytetracycline, Charm II Tetracylcline Tests have excellent cross-reactivity to demeclocycline, methacycline, rolitetracycline and doxycycline. Charm II Tetracycline Tests are useful tools for dairy, veterinary, laboratory, and regulatory personnel.
Charm II Tetracycline Tests meet US Safe Level/Tolerance, EU MRL (maximum residue limit) and CODEX MRL for dairy, honey, tissue and other food products. The Charm II Tetracycline Drug Test (Competitive Assay) was evaluated by FDA and was accepted by the Executive Board of the National Conference on Interstate Milk Shipments (US FDA IMS-a-36). The evaluation of the test demonstrated that it could detect tetracycline, chlortetracycline, and oxytetracycline at or below the established Safe Levels for these drugs in milk. In February 2010, the USDASDA Export Verification (EV) Program recommended the Charm II Tetracycline Test to meet specified product Requirements for Pork to the Russian Federation.
CHARM II TETRACYCLINE TESTS AT A GLANCE • FDA-approved for milk • 10 to 15 minute assay • No extraction for milk • 15 to 60 minute extractions for non-dairy products • Multiple Matrices: Milk, Honey, Tissue, Feed, Egg, Water, Serum, Urine • Identification of individual tetracycline drugs with Charm II HPLC Receptorgram • Meet global regulatory requirements • Many other Charm II antibiotic and non-antibiotic tests available • C2Soft Data Acquisition/Management Software for easy tracking and analysis

Using Charm II 7600 For Residue Testing in Meats in Barbados
Charm II Tetracycline Tests use a binding reagent with specific receptor sites that bind all tetracycline drugs. The binder is added to a sample along with an exempt amount of labeled tetracycline (tracer). Any tetracycline drug in the sample competes for the binding sites with this tracer. The amount of tracer that binds to the receptor sites is measured and compared to a previously determined Control Point. The Control Point is the cutoff point between a negative or positive sample. The greater the amount of tracer measured, the lower the tetracycline drug concentration in the sample. The smaller the amount of tracer measured, the greater the tetracycline drug concentration in the sample.
