Charm Tests for the Meat and Poultry Industry
Charm provides many types of rapid diagnostic test that can help the Meat and Poultry industry improve food safety and quality. Antibiotics are a vital component in the treatment, prevention and control of disease in the meat and poultry industry. To help ensure a residue-free finished product, Charm has developed multiple rapid antibiotic diagnostics for feed, water, live animal, and animal tissue testing. For example, the USDA FSIS recently awarded Charm Sciences a contract to provide Charm KIS Tests to USDA inspectors at slaughter facilities to screen for sulfonamides and antibiotic drugs under the National Residue Program. Charm’s ATP-based sanitation program provides an instant assessment of the surface hygienic status within meat and poultry slaughter houses and further processing facilities. The Charm CHEF Test can be used to quickly detects undercooked meat in cooked product using the same Charm ATP instrument.
