Charm II Tetracycline Test for Feed and Grain >> Available in kits of 100 and 500 tests
The Charm II Tetracycline Test for Feed and Grain detect the most common tetracyclines used in food producing animals, including oxytetracycline, tetracycline and chlortetracycline. Tetracyclines are commonly used broad-spectrum antibiotics that inhibit protein synthesis in bacteria. Tetracyclines are known to provoke allergic reactions in humans and induce microbial resistance.
CHARM II TETRACYCLINE TEST AT A GLANCE • 10 minute assay time • 10 to 15 minute preparation time • 50 g to 100 g sample size • 6 to 12 samples in assay • Same system can test multiple commodities for multiple residues

How It Works Charm II Tetracycline Tests use a binding reagent with specific receptor sites that bind all tetracycline drugs. The binder is added to a sample along with an exempt amount of labeled tetracycline (tracer). Any tetracycline drug in the sample competes for the binding sites with this tracer. The amount of tracer that binds to the receptor sites is measured and compared to a previously determined Control Point. The Control Point is the cutoff point between a negative or positive sample. The greater the amount of tracer measured, the lower the tetracycline drug concentration in the sample. The smaller the amount of tracer measured, the greater the tetracycline drug concentration in the sample.
