The Charm CideLite™ test is a screening method that saves time and money by screening individual samples for the presence or absence of pesticides in water, feeds, and a variety of other food products. Using an insect esterase that is more sensitive to insecticides than acetylcholinesterase, Charm CideLite test is 100 to 1000 times more sensitive to organophosphates and n-methylcarbamates than assays using an acetylcholinesterase reaction. If a positive result is obtained, further confirmation can be performed by methods such as HPLC or GS/MS to identify the specific pesticides present in the sample and the concentrations.
